Resolution to Honor Dean Ana Maria J. Wiseman

WHEREAS:

  1. Dean Wiseman was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Dutch parents, received her degree in Translation from the State University of Antwerp, Belgium in Dutch, English, Spanish and French,
  1. And, Dean Wiseman is retiring as the Dean of International Programs, and deserves recognition by the students of Wofford College to demonstrate our appreciation of her dedication to our fair College,
  1. And, Dean Wiseman has served as both a leader of the International Programs and an Associate Professor of Foreign Languages at Wofford College,
  1. And, in 2010, Dean Wiseman was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by IES Abroad due to her extensive professional and volunteer work in international education,
  1. And, Dean Wiseman was the first IES Abroad program director in Amsterdam,
  1. And, Dean Wiseman has served as a professor at the prestigious Middlebury College Spanish School in Middlebury, VT during the summer,
  1. And, Dean Wiseman obtained her Doctor of Modern Languages degree in Spanish and French from Middlebury College in 1996,
  1. And, Dean Wiseman has published a verb conjugation program in Spanish, entitled iSpeak Spanish Verbs for iPods in McGraw-Hill 2008 edition,
  1. And, Dean Wiseman has worked in the field of international education for more than 25 years,
  1. And, Dean Wiseman has served a key leadership role in the students’ pursuit of prestigious International and Domestic scholarship, i.e. Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, and Truman Scholars, and has had much success,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the 2015-2016 Campus Union Assembly honor Dean Ana Maria J. Wiseman for her selfless, diligent, and tenured service to her fair College both domestically and abroad, and formally wish her the best as she begins her retirement.
