XOXO PLAM

Following bid day, a meeting with all of Greek life was held and many questioned what the purpose was. Some argued they were announcing SAE’s shutdown after only receiving 4 pledges. Others claimed it was Zeta getting in trouble for bid promising, though that would never happen. The actual purpose served as a reminder to everyone in Greek life to be nicer to each other and delete the YikYak application.

As a shock to no one, this advice was met with campus-wide backlash and even more downloads of the app. Memes were made and students seemed to band together during this time when they thought their freedom of speech was being infringed upon.

In a shocking revelation, Karlee Tate has been revealed as the new CEO of YikYak and used this meeting as a way to drive up sales and engagement.

“With rush being over, she needed something to do,” Ashely Owen, associate dean of students, said. “We knew if we told the sororities and frats to stop using it and delete it that they would fall into our trap. These kids can’t be nice to each other, it’s great for us”.

Tate has vehemently denied these rumors, but sources close to her say she has the number one Yakarma for Wofford of all time. The stock price of the application has also increased since the Greek life meeting with many coworkers offering Tate congratulations on her success.

“She sends me the posts students make about me. I’m flattered, but also concerned,” Tim Brown said.

The app was in a public bidding war between Elon Musk and an unnamed figure, someone Musk ultimately lost to. Reports are speculating this was Tate.

YikYak just rolled out an update where users can pay $6.99 per month to get features including a custom app icon, ad-free scrolling and downloadable images. With the generous income this new business venture is bringing in, the Board of Trustees is eyeing Tate as their next Jerry Richardson.

“I think Tate Hall has a nice ring to it. Karlee Building? We’re still workshopping. She can name whatever she wants as long as we see the money,” Mr. 305 Worldwide, director of the board, said.

The app was originally founded by two Furman graduates which gives Tate motive to bring the homebase back to Wofford.

Rumors have circled that for every Yak posted, Tate receives a check. So let’s support our faculty and get Yakking Terriers!
