TOTAL NUMBER OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG VIOLATIONS OVER THE PAST 3 ACADEMIC YEARS HAS REMAINED RELATIVELY CONSISTENT—
The Judicial Commission was active throughout the 2014-2015 academic year, hearing a number of cases involving alcohol, drugs and student organizations. In an effort to be transparent, we have released historical data on the total number of alcohol and drug violations for the past few school years. This report demonstrates that the total number of alcohol and drug violations over the past 3 academic years has remained relatively consistent. Outreach efforts to educate the student body on the college’s Alcohol and Drug Policies such as the Convocation on Student Responsibility in March are having a positive impact on the student body.
This coming year, the Judicial Commission plans on proactively educating first-year students about the college’s Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities in the fall. The Commission has selected a larger number of student advocate/attorney generals for this coming year (16 in total). It is anticipated that the increase in the number of student advocates/attorney generals will allow for better representation of the student body.
We remind all students that the Judicial Commission is a resource and we encourage you to reach out with any questions you may have regarding the college’s Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities. The email address is judicialcommission@wofford. edu.
