Proposed by: The ad hoc Committee to Examine the Judicial System
Sponsored by: Osborne Brown
Whereas, The ad hoc Committee to Examine the Judicial System was founded last year in an attempt to streamline and update the manner in which the judicial process functions and,
Whereas, The current makeup of the commissioners present in an Administrative Court are two faculty/staff members and one student commissioner and,
Whereas, the ad hoc committee has observed the makeup of other schools’ courts and that of the Wofford College Honor Council and,
Whereas, seeing as the aforementioned institutions consist of more students than are presently represented on Wofford College Administrative Courts, such courts should follow suit in order to more adequately represent the student interest in judicial matters.
Therefore, be it resolved that the 2015-2016 Campus Union Assembly amend the Wofford College Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Section VIII, paragraph C, sentence 2C as follows:
Administrative hearings will be conducted with either two [one] of the 15 administrative members and one [two] student commissioner[s] or three [two] administrative members and two [three] of the student commissioners.
