Each year, the Old Gold & Black editors sit down and pour over dozens of articles to submit to the South Carolina Press Association’s Collegiate Awards. Competition categories range from News and Entertainment stories, to Opinion and Arts pieces, as well as technical awards for Page Designs and Photography. The Old Gold & Black’s staff always bring home awards that represent the work they put into the paper and reflect the community that they report on. This year, Wofford’s 100+ year old paper received 8 awards in competition with dozens of colleges and universities and hundreds of submissions. The Old Gold & Black will be honored at the SCPA Annual Meeting & Awards Presentation this October. The paper placed Third in General Excellence this year.
