WOFFORD HOSTS 30 REGIONAL EMPLOYERS FOR STUDENT NETWORKING —

The Career Services office in The Space is sponsoring the First Access Networking and Interview Event, an opportunity for Wofford students to meet and network with 30 of the region’s employers. Attending the Network Session is required in order to be considered for an interview for positions from these employers. The session will be held in Great Oaks Hall, Milliken Science Center on Thursday, Oct. 9. Students may drop in at any point between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

While some employers will schedule job interviews for another date and location, others will choose students for an interview following the networking event.

The companies planning to interview following the session include AFL, AgFirst, Ambassador Personnel, American Credit Acceptance, Camp Rockmont, Enterprise, First Investors, Glendale Outdoor Leadership School, Greenville Drive, Live Oak Bank, Modern Woodmen of America, Montessori Academy of Spartanburg, Northwestern Mutual, Partners for Active Living, Pure Insurance, RealPage, Spartan Tutors, TEKsystems, Verizon Wireless, Waddell & Reed Financial Advisors, and Waffle House.

In order to arrange an interview with one of these companies students will need to know in advance times when they will be available in the afternoon.

Students are encouraged to bring with them 30 copies of their resume, business cards if they have them, and a pen and notepad.

Assistant Director of Career Services Rebecca Parker is available for resume assistance, interview practice, business card help or networking tips before the event. She can be contacted at [email protected].

“First Access is a great opportunity for students to meet one on one with employers. Networking is the biggest piece of looking for a job or internship and we want students to have those opportunities right here on campus,” says Parker.

The Space additionally offers 9 Tips for Navigating Your First Networking Event, What Not To Wear On An Interview, What To Do During An Interview, and Writing An Interview Thank You Note on their website.
