With exams rapidly approaching, Wofford Activities Council (WAC) is providing several fun events for students to attend to take a break and relieve some stress. On Monday, Dec. 11, WAC has planned a late night study break/breakfast in Burwell. Here students can enjoy a midnight “snack” including common breakfast favorites like grits, eggs, bacon and French toast. Breakfast at midnight is a true college essential that has been a tradition for Wofford finals week for years. Additionally, there will be another installment of Food Truck Friday on Dec. 8 with tacos.
Aside from WAC sponsored events, RAs will most likely be hosting stress relieving exercises and events for their residents. In the past there have been coloring books and markers left on tables for students to fill out. Exams are an extremely stressful time as most students have to finish a lot of work but also need to prepare for going home. During this time students should take care of their mental and physical health. Although sleep deprivation is common among college students, sleep is a key ingredient to academic success. Staying positive, receiving adequate amounts of sleep and eating healthy can help students during this stressful time of the year.
If any students wish to receive academic help, they can reach out to peer tutors. They are terrific resources on campus and are free to students. MyWofford has a list of tutors varying from different subjects.. If a student wishes to receive mental and physical help, the Wellness Center is also a terrific resource. Although not necessary, making an appointment in advance is encouraged.
