Wash your couch covers and lock your doors – the alum are coming to campus, and without a row, who knows what will happen.
The College has events planned for the entire week leading up to Saturday night’s football game against Western Carolina.
“Homecoming this year will definitely be different because of the construction and because we don’t have a row. However, WAC is putting together multiple events to make the week and weekend even more fun than usual,” says Wofford Activities Council Homecoming Chair Mary Margaret Holden.
On Monday, Burwell will host a “Founders’ Day Celebration” to honor the college’s most important alum – its founders, including the Reverend Benjamin Wofford. On Tuesday, Trivia will be held in the Galleria from 8-10 pm. On Wednesday, the beloved Mr. Wofford competition will take place in Leonard Auditorium at 7 p.m. Competing for Wofford’s affection are Kevin So, Edward Able, Mason Cantey, Yves Engelmann, Kyle Hoffman, Tucker Lawson, Sheron Matthew, Tywone Green, Patrick Longest, Tyrell Long, Donovan Hicks, Joe Nelson, Boyd Richardson, Josh Askins, Dean Diamaduros, Clay Johnson, Harrison Alex, Tyler Ratteree, and Jordan Goewey.
On Thursday, Phase III will host a cookout and a movie, featuring Ike’s burgers and The Blind Side. In addition to respective IFC events on Friday night, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will sponsor a Black Alumni Summit. On Saturday, WAC will host tailgating in the horseshoe behind Old Main for fraternities, sororities and diversity organizations.
Homecoming Court coronation will take place during halftime of the football game. Walking on the field are Katherine Buchanan, Annie Jones, Marianna Conrad, JaneAnn Laffitte, Caroline Starnes, Maggie Schwartz, Taylor Till, Sarah Schultz, Taylor Deas and Catherine Eve Tisdale.
