New Restaurant Accepts Terrier Bucks

—But Make Sure to Tip Too.
Terrier Bucks tip at Silo goes to restaurant, not your waiter

The Silo at RJ Rockers has recently been added to the list of Spartanburg restaurants that accept Terrier Bucks, like Monarch Café, Lime Leaf, and Cribbs Kitchen.

The Silo, attached to RJ Rocker’s and Cribbs Kitchen, features dishes like crab tacos, salad with duck and chicken schnitzel. The restaurant even has a low country boil that can serve up to eight people.

However, when students use Terrier Bucks at The Silo, they should be aware that there is not an automatic tipping policy in place at the restaurant like at other restaurants that accept them.

When students use their Terrier Bucks at Cribbs Kitchen, for example, the receipt lists a fifteen percent tip charge after swiping their Wofford ID card, so often students do not leave a different tip at these restaurants because they know it will be taken out automatically.

At The Silo, however, there is an automatic twenty percent fee when a student uses Terrier Bucks. This fee does not serve as a tip for the waiter or waitress. Instead, it is a processing fee to allow payment through Terrier Bucks at The Silo. When Wofford students go to this restaurant, they may expect a tip to be charged automatically and not recognize that their server is not being tipped.

Students can instead tip with Terrier Bucks by using a card reader and typing in a tip amount, or by simply using cash or a personal card.

Knowing the specifics of Terrier Buck usage at each restaurant is important in ensuring Wofford maintains relationships with these local restaurants.
