THE CLEVER, THE CHEAP AND THE CRASS—

Halloween is this weekend, and we’re wondering what sorts of clever costumes will be found this year. Pinterest is the Holy Grail for all things holiday, and it provided a pretty comprehensive list of clever, classic and crass costume ideas for 2014.

DOs:

For the funny and clever costume:

Story continues below advertisement

1. Wrecking Ball

2. French Kiss. All you need is a striped shirt, a baguette and face paint for your “Kiss” face.

3. A Pot Head; wearing a flower pot on your head.

4. Grumpy Cat

5. North West…Kim Kardashian’s child

6. Shia LaBeouf “I am not famous anymore” bag over your head

7. “Cereal” killer. Fake blood on mini cereal boxes taped to your shirt and you’re good to go.

For the safe, easy and cheap costume:

1. Whatever you wore for Fall Weekend

2. The “Selfie” with a cutout Instagram frame

3. Tie-dye shirt (hippie)

4. Any and all decades throwbacks

5. ALS Ice-Bucket Challenge. Just grab a bucket of ice and take a shower before you leave for the night. Or if you want, dump ice water on yourself.

6. Morton Salt girl. Yellow dress and an umbrella.

DON’Ts:

Too crass costume:

1. Ebola. Admittedly this wasn’t found on Pinterest. It was on the radio and they suggested it over a zombie costume:

Ebola-pocalypse. Poking fun at a morbid pandemic that’s not even under control? Not cool.

Whatever you choose to be, be safe and have fun this year!
